Vlog Camera mode
The Record page now starts with a clear choice: Screen or Vlog Camera. Vlog mode lets you select a camera and microphone, see a mirrored live preview, choose 720p through 4K output and 30 or 60 FPS, then save through the same crash-safe recovery system used by screen recordings.
Cleaner microphone audio
Microphones now use 48 kHz capture and a higher recording bitrate. Voice Focus replaces the old compressor-only gate with speech-band filtering, an adaptive room-noise floor, and proper attack, hold, and release behavior. It also works when the microphone is the only audio source.
Smoother Windows capture
- A lighter Smooth-mode encoder profile reduces live recording overhead.
- Larger disk checkpoints reduce renderer and storage interruptions.
- Recording receives improved Windows scheduling priority while active.
- Your selected resolution and FPS remain preserved through final MP4 conversion.
4K when you need it
4K output remains available even when the source display or camera is smaller. Trim Lab labels native 4K when the source can supply it and produces a 2160p output when 4K is selected.
Tested before release
Version 5.2.5 passed the complete desktop test suite, Electron interaction audit, real WebM encoder smoke test, recording recovery checks, and AI background-removal checks before publishing.
